About

Melissa Black has been a research coordinator at MRINZ for 1.5 years, previously working as a research officer at Massey University in the area of exercise physiology and nutrition. She graduated from Massey University with a MSc, majoring in exercise and sport science, investigating the impact of heat acclimation on endurance performance in thermoneutral conditions. Melissa is currently involved in coordinating an early phase trial of novel treatments for asthma and is involved in other studies comparing different types of asthma treatments. Melissa is a member of Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science, and is studying towards becoming a Certified Respiratory Function Scientist.
