Medical Research Fellow
Karen graduated from the University of Otago, once in 2001 and then again in 2006, having completed a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science and a Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery. She completed her GP Fellowship at the end of 2015 (whilst also having 3 children) and decided that she would like to explore the world of clinical research.
She joined MRINZ in February 2017 as a Medical Research Fellow, initially working as a sub-investigator on asthma trials. As of February 2018 she has commenced her PhD, focusing on the expanding area of medical cannabis.
Karen has been inspired by her 2 daughters and has become a keen adult gymnast- she recently learn to front tuck on the air floor!
