Palak Mehta (University of Victoria, Wellington)

During my six months at Medical Research Institute of New Zealand I had the opportunity to complete my practicum as part of my Master’s in Clinical Immunology, this was followed by a position as a summer intern.  Coming to MRINZ I had hoped to be part of a team where I was challenged, gained insight and experience into clinical research. MRINZ offered me this completely, through the different roles within projects I was involved in.  This gave me a perspective of the many components involved in a clinical research. These included designing protocols, assisting in the running of phase III clinical trial, monitoring, and writing a literature review. MRINZ is also an amazing place to work, everyone is supportive, friendly, hardworking, passionate and truly inspiring. My time as MRINZ was invaluable, it has really given me a strong base to enter academic research.
